Catamarans are a multi-hulled boats or ships that are joined by the same structure. Aluminum catamarans may be engine powered and/or have the capability to sail. Aluminum catamarans are one of the newest designs in the boating market. People are trending more towards aluminium multi-hulled boats as they consider them safe and more reliable than other single hulled boats.
Because aluminum boats and catamarans are comparatively lighter and more durable than other boats (including fiberglass) they are often favored in high speed racing competitions. Because of this inherent light weight, durability and reliability, aluminum catamarans are often used in other applications, including large transport carriers or long range sailing.
There are two main catamaran variations, regular and open configurations. Open catamarans have a great feature of a trampoline between the hulls instead of normal plating. Many Companies have constructed large aluminum catamarans and have transformed them into ferries that are used to transport men and material from one place to another.
