The Honda BF200 four-stroke outboard features a V6, 3.5 litre engine with 24-valve, Multi Point sequential fuel injection.
The heart of the BF200 is the Engine Control Module (ECM). It manages all engine functions such as the Variable Air Intake, ignition timing and idling speed. It also pilots the Engine Alert System in case of low oil pressure, over heating, over revving or water contamination in the fuel, for total worry free operation.
Honda's Programmed Fuel Injection uses information provided by 18 different engine parameters to ensure the lowest fuel consumption possible. This gives it more powerful performance with less fuel consumption and reduces hydrocarbon emissions to meet the highest levels of EPA and CARB regulations. In fact it is the only engine in the world from this class to receive a 3 star (Ultra-low emissions) rating for CARB 2008 regulations.
The BF200 is also equipped with Honda's exclusive Variable Air Intake System. This varies the volume of the air intake into the manifold to provide clean and efficient operation at all engine speeds. Even at trolling speed, these engines will not foul plugs or produce engine smoke.
Alternator output is the highest amongst it competitors. It provides "on demand" 60 amps, enough to run all necessary electronic equipment on board, while using less crankshaft horsepower.
Thanks to the 60 degree V6 engine and its sleek streamline design, the BF200 will suit a broad variety of boats, in single or twin applications.
