Catamaran specialist Webbe Marine has just been appointed the exclusive NSW agent for the highly awarded and fully imported Glacier Bay brand of fibreglass catamarans.

Renowned for their unique high-speed displacement hulls, Glacier Bay Catamarans have earned the highest reputation for design, performance and construction. The recent Glacier Bay appointment now evens up the brand ledger at Webbe Marine who already offers the Australian-built Sailfish brand of aluminium power catamarans.

“We could not have asked for a better brand to complement our current line-up,” said Webbe Marine Co-Director Gavan Daly.

“The Glacier Bay Catamaran design is a work of art that delivers remarkable performance known the world over. Our customers looking to fibreglass catamaran solutions will find it very hard to go past a Glacier Bay cat once they’ve had a water test. The Glacier Bay journey began in 1986 with company founder Larry Graf and his fascination with the development of high-speed displacement hulls. From a makeshift workshop beside his family home, Graf developed a boat renowned for its soft ride in all sea conditions, exceptional strength, durability and incredible fuel efficiency.

“Quite simply, the Glacier Bay design gives more performance from less power,” said Gavan Daly.

“The displacement hull rides through the waterline rather than on top which means the hull doesn’t bang or pound like other catamaran designs. The other benefit is a significant reduction in drag meaning you can power these catamarans with far less horsepower than any competitor. So you get more performance from less power which ultimately saves our customers money.”

Recently winning the AMIF 2007 Imported Trailer Boat of the Year title, Glacier Bay Catamarans offer a stunning selection of highly refined fibreglass power catamarans from 7m to 11m in length. “We had our first order in just after we’d become the Glacier Bay agent,” explained Gavan Daly.

“This customer had been researching these boats for quite some time and it was all good timing that we were able to help him out so quickly. As the only dealer in NSW, we are expecting consistent interest as our local market starts to understand more about these unique catamarans. “
