Sailfish Catamarans has refined the hull and transom design on their legendary fishing cats that has set a new performance benchmark for twin hulled powerboats. The HydroFlow Hull is a new feature of all Sailfish boats from the 2400 Series upwards and delivers greater stability, faster planning and increased hull performance.
A key feature of the new HydroFlow Hull is a wider sponson design that has increased the level of stability in the hull at rest.
Twin hull powerboat owners are always looking for that little bit more agility when cornering. With the new HydroFlow this has been achieved by widening the chine profile on each sponson which is able to deliver a much flatter turn when cornering. The wider chine has also greatly increased spray deflection creating a drier and smoother ride in rough water.
“There are a range of differences you can feel onboard a new HydroFlow Sailfish hull,” said Ashley Faraj, Co-Director of Webbe Marine.
“The wider sponson gives the boat a bigger feel in the water and also opened up more sub-floor room for extra flotation foam which has made the hull even quieter when underway.”
Improved hull performance can also be attributed to the tapered planning sheet that runs the length of the sponson and allows the hull to get onto the plane faster. The tapered planning sheet not only improves hull efficiency, but also fuel economy by reducing hull friction when powering onto the plane.
Sailfish Catamarans are regarded as the benchmark for aluminium power cat performance in Australia with a range of versatile game fishing and family-friendly models to choose from.
